What Could Be The Dangerous Sweetest Thing

Dear friends,

Since 2007 I've been diagnosed with Diabetes (Melitus) Type 2... and so the doctor said. I'm just 19 at that time, and I felt like the whole world is crushing down on me. I cried for almost a month. The first week was such a hell to me. I have to admit "that" first, before I could tell anyone else about it. Then the talk with my parents, and my roommates. Maybe for some people "that" is not something worth crying over, but for me it is. It means the end of drinking carbonated drinks, ice-creams, cakes, custards, sweets, fast foods, eating rice a lot, and drinks.............

My battle begins right after I accepted that I'm a diabetic patient. My drinks only consist of plain water, tea and coffee without sugar. My diet changed. I could only eat rice once per day, half the portion I used to eat. That's the hardest thing for me when my staple food is rice.

For one year, I remained my diet in that way; I jogged 2 times a week; not having any canned drinks nor bottled drinks at all, and eating rice once a day.

Then I got sick. Just a fever actually, but the sickest time I ever had in my life. For one week my fever continued, then I went to a different doctor. I told him that I'm diabetic. He took my blood sampling for HBa1C.  This was my conversation with the doctor, two weeks after:

Doc: How did you know you're diabetic?

Me: Since I always have to pee eventhough I drank just a litle.

Doc: Did your doctor take a sample of your blood to show is there any insulin left in your body?

Me: No. (Of course I don't know anything about that. I'm still new in this)

Doc: According to your HBa1C, you may not have any insulin left in your body. You may have to          take insulin injection after this.

Me: Hah?!!

....

and so the conversation went on.

That was four weeks ago. When I asked my teacher, he said that I better talk to another doctor first before taking the insulin. So here I am, busying myself calling the hospitals and such so that I can have another opinion on my health.

So to those who were told that you have this Diabetes... firstly, asked the doctor to take your blood sample to prove that there's no insulin in your body. Make sure you make it two time. The second time could be 9-12 months after the first time.

Then make sure what kind of medicine you're taking.

And eat A LOT OF PROTEIN!!!!

I lost my weight because of not eating enough protein. I only thought of reducing my carbohidrate intake.. but instead I lost 10 kg in 2 years!!! I really feel uncomfortable with my body right now(Eventhough I start eating a lot back but my weight still drop. Then I read about the good thing about protein, so I'm starting to eat a lot of meat).

There, till next time.
